About Sargam Music Academy


Sargam Music Academy is established in Brisbane in the year 2014, it is a branch of Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, and affiliated to the prestigious Rabindra Bharati University of West Bengal, India. Mithun Chakraborty has learnt Indian classical music in India at a very early age from guru, Mr Prahlad Das and earned Masters in Music from the Gandharv Gharana in India. Sargam Musical Academy Australia has been established for music lovers who do not have resources available to learn music in person in Brisbane.

Mithun and Bondita say “ Music is our passion and it has inspired us to establish Sargam Music Academy in Brisbane where children and adults can learn different kinds of music “.

These lessons include vocal training, instrumental training such as keyboard, piano and harmonium, and offer general musical knowledge. We teach individuals of all abilities in groups as well as single students. We also travel in and around Brisbane to offer lessons based on needs and availability. We organize various events in and around Brisbane and participate in various multicultural events to encourage our students to be a part of those events to build their confidence. We love and enjoy music and want to share our knowledge with all music lovers.
